Balancing female hormones is a delicate matter throughout a woman's life, particularly during perimenopause and menopause. Certain foods such as commercially raised beef, pork, and chicken contain high amounts of saturated fats, which can actually DECREASE a woman's ability to properly metabolize estrogen. This problem can also be compounded if a woman consumes excessive amounts of sugar.
