Simmer one teaspoon of grated ginger in one cup of water in a covered pot for five minutes. Strain and then add one clove crushed garlic. one-quarter teaspoon cayenne powder and sweeten with honey if desired. This mixture offers relief from inflammation from the ginger; antibacterial properties and immune enhancing strength from the garlic; and a cooling, astringent effect from the lemon. It is a potent tasting drink but one you can acquire a taste for in light of its beneficial properties.
