February 6, 2004, Newsletter Issue #124: Improve Your Skin`s Health and Beauty

Tip of the Week

DIET: Consider your diet since this factor plays an important role in the health of a person`s skin. Eat nourishing meals that are low in fat and high in fiber. Good old fruits and veggies go farther than anything. Incorporate fish into your diet for the essential omega-3 fatty acids your body needs.

WATER: your skin needs 8 8oz. glasses of pure water daily. It is essential to maintaining elasticity and suppleness. And remember: sodas and caffeine are dehydrating. Drink lemon water instead!

EXERCISE: Aerobic activites rejuvenate skin, improve blood flow and circulation. Body sweat promotes sebum, which is our bodies own natural moisturizer. Get that healthy glow going!

HYGIENE: Not only do you need good skin hygiene, but don`t forget to clean your makeup tools regularly. A warm, soapy antibacterial soak goes a long way in eliminating bacteria, skin irritations and outbreaks.

STRESS LEVELS: Keep an eye on your triggers. Higher stress means more care and comfort is needed for your body, mind and spirit. Don`t forget to DEEP BREATHE often. Learn to meditate.

POLLUTANT PROTECTION: A good moisturizer can act as a barrier for your skin. Look for added Vitamin A, C and E to help block pollutant penetration.

Keep environmental pollutants from being absorbed into the skin with a good moisturizer that also acts as a skin barrier. Check the labels for those with added Vitamin A, C and E, which help block the penetration of pollutants.
