June 22, 2001, Newsletter Issue #43: Say Good Bye To Stress Naturally

Tip of the Week

Most people have heard that vitamin B is essential in keeping our nervous systems running smoothly, and that is VERY true. ALL B vitamins are essential for proper functioning of the nervous system, but sometimes we need an extra edge.

Inositol,(a supplement available at health food stores) has been found to offer an extra helping hand in combating stress. It maintains levels of serotonin, a brain chemical that regulates mood and has been found to relieve some behavioral disorders. Studies reported in the American Journal of Psychiatry found that high doses (12g daily) has been helpful in reducing the frequency and severity of panic attacks.

Recommended intake to combat mild anxiety is 1 or 2 g of Inositol daily - along with a B-complex supplement. The good news is that no side effects have been reported. So, if stress is taking a toll on you, this supplement may be just what you`re stressed-out system has been waiting for!
