St. John's wort works wonders for many folks battling depression but it can wreak dangerous havoc with other prescription medication, especially immunosuppressants, protease inhibitors (usually taken by HIV positive patients) and some birth control pills. Check with your doctor to make sure you're not playing with herbal fire.
