February 9, 2007, Newsletter Issue #185: Fish Oil For Cancer Patients

Tip of the Week

According to the book Blended Medicine, The Best Choices in Healing, Greek researchers gave 60 people with a variety of advanced, metastatic cancers 18 grams a day of either a placebo or fish oil. Patients who received the placebo suffered a dramatic decrease in the strength of their immune systems. Those who received the fish oil were rewarded with immune systems that rallied, and they lived significantly longer. Fish oil is an excellent source of omega-3 fatty acids, anti-inflammatory and immune-boosting compounds that have been found to be very effective in helping treat many conditions.

If you have cancer, discuss taking fish oil with your doctor.
