June 7, 2002, Newsletter Issue #93: Apples for Oily Skin

Tip of the Week

Gather together 1 apple (quartered), 1 teaspoon lemon juice, 1 teaspoon dried herb (such as parsley, sage, rosemary, peppermint, lavender or spearmint). Cook the apple until soft, then mash into pulp. Strain off extra liquid and discard solid parts like skin and seeds. Add the lemon juice and the herb of your choice and mix well. Apply mixture to face and leave on about 5 minutes. Rinse with warm water and then apply your favorite moisturizer. The astringent effects of this mask will gently reduce the extra oil on your face.
