July 27, 2001, Newsletter Issue #48: What`s What About Water!

Tip of the Week

The ideal intake of water for the average person is a MINIMUM of 64 ounces per day. Before you gasp and say, "And just how can a normal person achieve that?," you have to stop and consider this breaks down to eight 8-ounce glasses a day. That equals *just* four 16-ounce bottles of water worked into your routine, which can easily be consumed at mealtimes, with a snack or when your watching TV or sitting at your computer.

Your body is composed of 70 percent water and that vital water supply is involved in nearly EVERY bodily process, including digestion, absorption, circulation, and excretion. It also helps maintain normal body temperature - a VERY important fact to keep in mind during these hot summer months.

Your body can take lots of different types of abuse, but it boils down to this. You can survive without food for about five weeks, but the body CANNOT survive without water for longer than 5 days!

So, keep those water bottles filled, emptied and then filled again!
