May 18, 2001, Newsletter Issue #38: Tooth Time: Natural Help For Toothaches

Tip of the Week

One tip that can help decrease toothache pain is to rub an ice cube into the V-shaped area between the thumb and the forefinger on the same side of the body where the toothache is occurring. Do this for about five minutes - and this can help lessen pain by sending a different signal along the nerve pathway in place of the pain signal the toothache would be sending. Think of it as a one-way street and only one car can use the roadway.

Dabbing whiskey on the affected tooth can also offer some relief, thanks to the alcohol the nerves absorb - but my favorite toothache aid comes in another little aromatic bottle and it has NEVER failed me.
