What Drugs Should Be Avoided If I´m Using 5-HTP?

5-HTP & Carbidopa & Antidepressants

5-HTP should NOT be mixed with prescription antidepressants, unless okayed by your physician. The risk comes from the possibility you may raise your serotonin levels too high. Also, DO NOT mix the Parkinson's disease medication Carbidopa with 5-HTP, as this may increase your chance of developing scleroderma, a disease that creates fibrous tissue in the skin and internal organs.
