It has long been believed that a glass of ginger ale or other carbonated beverages could help ease nausea. Although the ginger base in true ginger ale could help ease some symptoms, the carbonation can actually bloat an empty stomach and also induce more vomiting if vomiting is present. It is better to sip "flat" ginger ale that is room temperature. Cold beverages may add extra strain to an already troubled tummy.
