Eating just 1/2 cup of carrots, winter squash or yams can cut your chance of developing lung cancer in half, according to studies conducted by the National Cancer Institute. This can benefit former smokers and current smokers, but odds of not developing lung cancer are not as high for those who continue to puff away!
