March 15, 2002, Newsletter Issue #81: Natural RX For Prostate Health

Tip of the Week

The suggested recommendations to guard against BPH (published in Prevention Magazine Feb 2000) are as follows:

*Spread butter and margarine more thinly. Limit your fat intake to 25 percent of your daily calories, and try substituting olive oil instead of oleo and butter. This is also good advice for your heart health.
*Avoid eating too much red meat - stick to one daily serving of up to three ounces.
*Reach for the fruit more frequently. This is very important because fruit is rich in the nutrients your body needs to help put up a stronger battle against the risk of cancer. Aim for at least four servings of fruit and five servings of vegetables daily.
